We're not in Daytona anymore

I hear it's cold in Florida, but that's nothing compared to what's going on here. Earlier this week, there was snow falling from the sky (which I didn't mind one bit) and now there's an icy wind blowing (I've become a champion doing my business at super-speed!), but that's ok because FoDad put these great things called "jammies" on me. They are SUPER warm and cozy and I don't mind them one bit! Look at me here with my foster siblings. I'm the one in the middle in green!

Did you know wearing jammies (or just trying new things in general) makes me frisky? I'm so adventurous! Watch out squeaky toys!!

But all good things must end with a nap on a cozy bed. In case you weren't sure, I've got that part of retirement perfected. I can't wait for you to take me home tomorrow so I can cuddle up and show you!

Leans and kisses,
Lindsey

Adventures In Cooking

Last night, FoMa taught me how to make dinner. She says I am SUPER helpful in the kitchen and I'm pretty sure she meant it. Here I am helping her do some prep work. It turns out I'm not a big fan of raw cauliflower. Maybe we can have peanut butter sandwiches next time?

And then she showed me how she likes to lean waaaaay over to reach the stove. She really should provide a more cozy bed for the kitchen. This rug just isn't up to my standards.

And then we watched and waited for everything to finish baking.

FoMa says I'm going to make the best Sous chef for my forever family. I'm ready to teach you all my special kitchen tricks! (Especially the one where I lean on your legs in hopes of getting pets or cleaning up any dropped bits of food while you try to maneuver. I'm helpful like that!) Are you hungry?

A Girl About Town

Yesterday, I learned how to get in and out, and in and out, and in to the car. FoMa thought I might need extra time to figure it out so she had a pocketful of treats ready to tempt me, but she underestimated how smart I am. Once I knew what I was supposed to do, I was ready to go with no hesitation. Look at me sitting so pretty in the back seat! I never knew I enjoyed looking out the back window of a car watching the world drive by until I retired.

It was such an exciting trip with so many new smells and friendly animals to see. And everyone at the pet store just loved me. I'm a gorgeous cow dog, what can I say? After loading up the car with all the cool new stuff (hooray for more FOOD!!!), we headed back home where I finally got to kick back and relax. I was so tired, I even fell asleep with my head in FoDad's hand, but that's just fine by me.

I really am an Olympic cuddler.  I'll even share the fluffy bed with my FoSister Twila. She didn't mind one bit when I plopped down beside her. If I keep up this pace, I'll be ready to smother you with love when we get to my forever home this weekend. That's your house, right?

I'm a cow dog. . .

On a green snake I bite! I want it! (WANT IT!) Dead, not alive!

FoMa was so surprised when I figured out what to do with toys. I LOVE toys. Especially the ones that squeak. And the ones that roll. And the ones that pull. And the ones that chew. I'm such a good girl, though, because I know to only chew on the toys (and boy do I give it to them!). FoMa is happy about that.

I'm settling into this retirement thing more and more everyday. Going up the stairs is still a little scary, but if you ask me nicely, I'll go up and down all by myself!

FoMa even caught me practicing my "sit" the other day. I think I'm pretty good, what do you think?

And I'll leave you with a picture of me being shy while lounging on another one of those cozy beds. One of my favorite things is to snooze on a bed while getting my belly rubbed. I'll even roll onto my back and nudge you if you get distracted while you should be petting me. I'm helpful like that! Do you have a bed so I can show you?

So much to tell you!

Hey everybody! You would not believe how cool this whole retirement thing is! There is SO MUCH to sniff and watch and explore and taste, and seriously, why has no one mentioned belly rubs or cuddles before now?? I gotta tell you, those are the absolute best! I've figured out that I only have to walk right up and nudge the people when I want some attention. When I do my signature lean or nuzzle my head into their arms, they just melt. And it's a good thing, too, because I really love to snuggle.

My FoMa says I'm a character, but I don't have time to figure out what that means - there are just too many new and interesting things to explore, and all of them must be sniffed thoroughly. FoMa also wanted me to tell you I'm turning into a rockstar on the steps (those things can be intimidating, but I take my time and trust that no one is going to let me stumble and I get my footing), AND I know what business I'm supposed to do on walks and in the yard. She also seems really happy that I sleep peacefully through the night, but I think she's just crazy because sleeping is one of the things I do best.

Oh, and the other best thing - SOFT BEDS! I wasn't sure what all the fuss was when FoMa and FoDad tried to show them to me, but I gotta tell you, they are super cozy. I got this retirement thing figured out. If you have a soft bed and want a snuggle, I'm your girl!
